Some highlights & settings from each shoot I've done, mostly based on my Instagram posts. Click "more..." to see... well, more.
Finally took the camera out again after a pretty lengthy break. I tried to use a simulation I haven't used much in the past, and I ended up choosing Cinestill 800T. I really like the way some of the colors pop in these despite the rough lighting. Not much of a car guy, but I kind of want an Outback now.
My first film roll ever! I was gifted a reusable disposable camera with some BW film by my friend Brandon for my birthday, and I thought the film would be fitting for my London visit back in July. These aren't amazing in my opinion and a lot of them are really badly exposed, but we all start somewhere!
Our third and final stop through our trip across the United Kingdom took us to Dublin, Ireland. Unfortunately I don't have an awful lot of photos from here since my camera isn't weather-sealed and it rained all 3 days. Nonetheless I pressed on and got some cool shots.
Our second stop on our trip across the United Kingdom landed us in Edinburgh, Scotland. This may have been my favorite country to visit since the arctitecture was so unique compared to the other countries on the list. The pictures were also probably my favorite that I've ever taken.
Our home base for our trip across the United Kingdom. I've visited London before a couple years ago but this was my first time really taking it in. This trip served as more of a birthday trip more than anything, but we got to visit family which was very much worth it. I <3 London.
The newest edition to our family! I never had a dog nor a cat growing up so this was a very strange adjustment to make well into my adult life. Nonetheless I love her endlessly and she keeps me going. No, like, literally. She chews on my pants. My ankles will never recover.
We attended an event for National Camera Day that was being held on the Queen Mary; I haven't visited the Queen Mary since I was young but being able to shoot some photos on it was really cool. A few different camera vendors had some gear out including Fujifilm, and I got to try some of their new mirrorless cameras.
We attended the Orange Frost High Definition Pop-up on Melrose and Fairfax in LA, where people could come by and smell the new fragrance by Waterparks frontman Awsten Knight. We actually got to talk to him (cool guy!) about the fragrance and stuff so if you've smelled me lately, this is what I have on.
This album finds us at Freestyle Cinema Rentals for their annual Cinegear kick-off party in Los Angeles. The company I work for is a partner of the event so we always show up. As you can see I like taking pictures of my friends.
Santa Barbara has to be one of my favorite cities to spend a whole day at. This is also my first time trying the Acros film simulation, which I was nervous about since I love shooting in color. Luckily I got some pretty cool shots though.
Not much to this one, but here's my favorite hot dog and beer spot in LA. We head here sometimes after long work weeks. Pictured is my coworker Matt. He's cool. Hi Matt.
The famous San Francisco trip. This was where I really figured out that Classic Cuban Negative was my favorite film simulation, hands down. Almost all of my profile photos across all my socials are from this album. We took these on a weekend trip up north to see Wallows in Sacramento, and we decided to hit SF on our last day. I'm glad we did.
Green Day's Walk of Fame star!! This one's a special one since Green Day has been my favorite band for many years now. It's also a weird one though, since it was my first time experimenting with a prime lens and ditching autofocus, so some of the photos are ever so slightly soft or out of focus. See the last picture in the album for a funny shot.
While this album isn't only comprised of photos fron NAB show, the shots from NAB are definitely the highlights. This trip definitely felt more experimental, as I used a few different film simulations in some different settings. I tried shooting subjects close-up which isn't my strong suit, but still looked interesting.
The camera's first nature trip lands us in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, California. I had never visited this town prior to the trip, but it's such a charming little mountain town just southwest of Palm Springs with a very small community. We spent a lot of time outdoors just shooting any photos we could, and they turned out great.
Contrary to what the album name suggests, this is actually a building where Matteo Studios, a tattoo shop my girlfriend and I frequent, used to rent a space out of. I shot these on a $15 lens from Amazon that looked like an Oreo, so there's a ton of chromatic abberation that kinda makes it look like it's straight out of a dream or something.
I think my favorite part of living in LA is being able to visit communities like Little Tokyo often. I'm really fond of the culture there and there's always stuff to take pictures of. I usually take the train whenever I visit since the public commute there is accessible, and I'm also just performative like that.
I decided I'd take the camera along on a cycling trip with some friends, which I half regretted at the time since I was very paranoid about dropping the camera the whole time. We took the train down to the city and rode around for the whole day. Nonetheless, I love these photos and they're some of my favorite early shots of mine.
This is probably my most unique photo album yet, as I used the Atlas Lens Co. Mercury 42mm Anamorphic lens made primarily for cinema. This lens has an anamorphic squeeze ratio of 1.5x, so I had to manually stretch the photos afterwards. As a result, I got a some very wide pictures that look straight out of a movie.
In the same trip as the last album, I took the camera out to Downtown San Diego. I personally love super saturated colors, especially in nature and architecture, so I switched to Vevia Vivid and tried capturing all the color I could. I still go back and look at these photos to this day.
My first Fujifilm photo album! Frankly, a lot of these photos are not great as it was my first time actually using the camera outdoors, so I just kind of let Auto mode do its thing. I was really just trying to take photos of anything and everything, but I don't think I did too bad.
This is a fun one. In mid 2024 I got myself a Fujifilm Instax Mino EVO camera, which is a hybrid digital + instant film camera. These photos span across the entirety of 2024 and since the camera is so small, I'm able to carry it around easier. The photos from this camera aren't meant to look good, but that's kind of the point.
These were from a trip I took with my dad on a Carnival Cruise to Ensenada, Mexico, and it was actually my first time using scleral hard contacts. I basically couldn't see the entirety of the trip due to my eyes still adjusting, so most of these were taken by my dad and edited by me later. I still really love how bright the sky is in these.
I believe this was actually a Mother's Day post, but I still got some cool shots. Not much to see here if you haven't already been to the Grove.
Fun fact about me, I follow Apple just about everywhere. This trip was great since I had always wanted to visit Apple Park, but the park itself isn't actually open to visitors. It's crazy seeing all the different tech giants have their headquarters within really close vicinity of each other here, like Facebook and Google.
These mountains sit just beside Palm Springs, and we had to take a lift to get to the very top. The instant change in climate from scalding hot desert to cool damp forest was insane. These are still are some of my favorite pictures, even though I just used my iPhone.
Going way back to 2021, we find ourselves in Palm Springs. I still consider this time period to be part of the pandemic; it's crazy that it's been so long already. A lot of these photos are using filters from a third party app and were shot on my new (at the time) iPhone 12. They're also cropped into a white square for the 'Gram.
